It seems that every time one turns on the news, there is a report of a tragic accident. When the average Texas resident hears of such motor vehicle accidents, thoughts generally turn to drunk driving or some other such cause; little thought is given to the variety of other driver impairments that can be just as deadly. In fact, driver fatigue is believed to be the primary cause of one such accident.
Reports indicate that several vehicles were traveling southwest along a Texas roadway just before 6:00 a.m. Another vehicle was traveling northwest on the same roadway. It appears that this last driver fell asleep at the wheel and glided into oncoming traffic; the accident is currently under investigation.
Two of the vehicles involved in the accident ended up in ditches while the other spun into another lane of traffic. As a result of this accident, one individual is dead. Others involved suffered serious injury and were transported to a local hospital.
Regardless of the cause, when a Texas resident becomes injured or worse in one of the many motor vehicle accidents that seem to occur on a daily basis, the individual and/or family suffers. One person’s decision to drive while not fully rested, after drinking too much or even while distracted by a cellular device, can change the lives of all involved. While pursuing the matter through the civil court system may not completely rectify the situation, it can assist with providing the financial support and sense of closure that the individual and/or family may need.
