A woman has filed a lawsuit against another driver. The Texas woman was injured in a car accident and claims that the other party was under the influence. She is asking for judgment for an unspecified amount in damages.

According to reports, the accident happened when the woman was traveling in the southbound direction on the highway. Another driver was traveling in the northbound direction when he veered into the lane the woman was driving in and slammed into her vehicle. When authorities arrived at the scene, it was determined that the other driver was over the legal limit. In the lawsuit, it was stated that the other driver was negligent when he did not yield to oncoming traffic and did not properly apply the brakes.

It also stated that he failed to maintain control of his vehicle and was driving under the influence. The woman is requesting compensation for medical and pharmaceutical expenses. She is also requesting compensation for physical impairment and loss of earning capacity. Along with compensatory damages, the woman is also seeking court costs and judgment interest.

A car accident can cause victims to suffer physically and mentally. From a physical standpoint, the woman is likely unable to perform certain tasks as before, which has caused her to lose job opportunities. In addition, injured victims are faced with financial burdens from lost wages and medical expenses just like with this case. The civil court system in Texas may award the woman damages if evidence demonstrates that the other driver operated under the influence and in a negligent manner.
