Anyone who has suffered an injury knows that some injuries heal better than others. It is often said that once a person suffers a back injury, his or her back is never the same. Hopefully, this will not be the case for a truck driver whose back was injured in a recent Texas collision.
It was 6:45 a.m. on a morning in late January when a car allegedly drove into the path of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 10. Apparently, the truck driver attempted to swerve to avoid a crash. As a result, the truck hit a barrier on the side of the road, and the two vehicles collided. Westbound lanes were closed to traffic for hours after the incident.
It was reported that the 33-year-old driver of the truck suffered back and neck injuries in the accident. The truck itself was leaking fluids onto the road, resulting in the need for a hazardous materials team to be called to the scene. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the truck cab was left dangling over the concrete barrier.
Often when a person suffers a back injury like the truck driver in this Texas collision did, he or she ends up requiring multiple visits to doctors, as well as ongoing physical therapy. Such things can be very expensive and the increase in unexpected bills can be quite stressful. It might be comforting for an injured person to know that there are legal professionals who can help with the filing of a personal injury claim. This type of claim, when successfully litigated, may result in compensation being awarded to an injured party.
