A man recently lost his life in Texas after allegedly being struck by a drunk driver. The woman believed to have killed him in the drunk driving accident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Although the man’s family members may find satisfaction in learning that the woman faces criminal charges, this may still not be enough for them as they cope with the loss of their loved one.
The crash took place along Texas Highway 130 and 79 around 3:09 p.m. on a recent Saturday. The man was 68, while the woman was said to be 23. The woman who police said hit the man apparently had her nephews in the car with her. According to a police warrant, the woman had slurred speech when police questioned her. In addition, she was confused about the time of day and her whereabouts.
The woman reportedly failed her sobriety test at the scene. Also, the woman’s blood alcohol content was .143, which is above the legal limit in Texas of .08. She said she had two large shots of whiskey before she started to drive. The woman now faces intoxication manslaughter charges.
