Texas fatal accidents cause grief and sorrow for many

by | Sep 3, 2015 | Wrongful Death |

A horrific tragedy occurred on a recent Tuesday night, leaving two persons dead and at least six others injured. Fatal accidents can leave long-lasting emotional scars on other victims who do survive, as well as the families and friends who mourn the loss of their loved ones. In the recent crash, four vehicles were involved. A teenage driver is thought to be responsible for the collision.

A 17-year-old motorist reportedly ran a red light at an intersection before crashing into a sports utility vehicle occupied a family of four. The teenager was transported to a local hospital and is said to be in critical condition. Sadly, a 35-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were killed in the tragic accident.

The SUV is said to have struck two other vehicles, resulting in all four vehicles landing each other on the road. Six occupants from various vehicles were injured and taken to the hospital for emergency care. The crash remains under police investigation.

When a Texas motorist has acted with negligence behind the wheel, causing injury to others on the road, those who are injured may file legal claims against the party deemed at fault in order to seek compensation for damages. When a victim has succumbed to his or her injuries, immediate family members acting on his or her behalf may pursue a wrongful death action in a civil court. In a successfully litigated case, court-awarded compensation can be used to help pay funeral costs or alleviate other expenses associated with fatal accidents.
