A recent motor vehicle collision occurred in a town near Houston. The Texas car accident resulted in two persons having to be airlifted to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the vehicle thought to be at-fault  was issued a traffic ticket in the aftermath of the crash.

According to recent reports, the driver of one vehicle was attempting to make a left-hand turn. While doing so, he allegedly drove across the front path of a pickup truck. The pickup reportedly rolled over and landed in a ditch. Police issued a traffic ticket to the man in the first vehicle on the grounds that he failed to yield the appropriate right-of-way to the pickup truck.

The vehicle that rolled into the ditch was said to be carrying two occupants. A 60-year-old woman who was traveling as a passenger in the vehicle was thrown through the windshield where she then became trapped. Local fire fighters worked together to help cut the woman free from the broken glass.

The woman and a 45-year-old man who was traveling with her were taken by  flight to a nearby medical facility for emergency care. They were both listed in serious condition. In Texas, a person who is injured under similar circumstances has the right to file a personal injury claim in a civil court against any party believed to be at-fault in a car accident. Persons filing a claim are able to seek compensation for damages sustained as a result of a motor vehicle collision.
