Victim with burn injuries remains in treatment, 2 others dead

Some Texas motor vehicle accidents result in personal injury to motorists and vehicle occupants who are involved in the collisions. When a vehicle catches fire in an accident, the injuries suffered can have long-lasting effects on a victim. A recent accident resulted in one victim being transported for emergency care after being pulled from a burning vehicle.

According to reports, the current condition of the victim has not yet been made public. The tragedy occurred on a section of road known as “Loop 410” on a recent afternoon. A San Antonio police officer stated that witness reports suggest that the driver of a box truck, traveling eastward, seemed to have lost steering control and crashed into a cement post.

According to additional reports, the truck ignited in flames upon impact. Witnesses to the accident stopped to render aid and were successful in helping to extricate one of the victims. He was immediately airlifted by helicopter to a nearby military medical center for treatment in a specialized burn unit. Sadly, two other persons involved did not survive the tragic accident.

When burn injuries have been suffered in relation to a Texas motor vehicle accident that has been caused by the fault of another driver, victims may consider filing a personal injury claim in a civil court in order to seek compensation for damages. Often, ongoing medical care, physical therapy or loss of wages can amount to significant financial difficulty for victims who are striving to recover from their wounds. Court-awarded compensation can not take away a person’s physical or emotional trauma but may help to absorb some of the costs incurred in the aftermath of an accident. Immediate family members who have suffered the untimely death of a loved one in a fatal accident may file a legal claim for compensation on behalf of their deceased loved one.
