Young mother dies in potential wrongful death in Texas

by | Sep 25, 2014 | Wrongful Death |

Anybody who is on the road runs the risk of being injured or even dying in a car crash. When a person dies in a car accident, it is unfortunate no matter who the victim is. However, it can be particularly devastating when the victim is a young mother who leaves behind an infant. This seems to have been the case in a recent vehicle accident, which could result in a wrongful death lawsuit.

The incident happened at approximately 4:30 a.m. when the young mother pulled over onto the shoulder of the freeway for some reason. The 19-year-old mother, who had been traveling southbound, reportedly had her emergency blinkers on at the time. Reports released to the public have not specified as to the reason the young woman may have pulled over to the side of the road.

While the woman was pulled over on the side of the freeway a 24-year-old male driver was also traveling southbound on the freeway in his pickup truck. As he approached the young woman’s car, he lost control of his truck. His vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the young mother’s car. The driver of the truck has since been charged by authorities with intoxication manslaughter.

Now, family members will be forced to care for the young mother’s 1-year-old son due to the car crash in Texas. However, the family of the victim may be able to obtain some financial assistance in caring for the child as well as funeral costs and other expenses related to the fatality. The family may be able to do this by filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the alleged drunk driver of the truck.
