A three-vehicle accident occurred on a recent afternoon. The car accident happened on a Texas highway and caused injuries to at least one person. It is not known if authorities have issued any citations.
The crash ensued on a recent Wednesday afternoon along Texas 6. Reportedly, a pickup truck, a semi and an SUV were all traveling in the northbound direction on the highway. According to reports, the driver of the semi-truck started to slow down due to traffic. The driver of the SUV observed in the rearview mirror that the pickup was coming from behind at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the SUV tried to avoid being struck by swerving over into the inside lane. However, the driver of the pickup reportedly crashed into the back of both the semi-truck and the SUV. Medics arrived at the scene and transported the driver of the pickup to the hospital, but the exact details of his condition have not been reported. The condition of the other individuals involved also has not been reported.
A car accident can be a troubling experience for victims who are seriously injured. It is not known exactly who was ultimately responsible for the crash, but either party could be held liable. If the driver of the pickup is deemed the responsible person, then the other parties involved may have the right to pursue personal injury claims if they suffered injuries. However, if one of the other parties is responsible, such as the semi-truck driver or the driver of the SUV, then the driver of the pickup truck may also pursue the same for the injuries he suffered. The civil court system in Texas may award damages based upon evidence of negligence that resulted in injuries.
