Motor vehicle collisions can be an extremely serious matter. Such accidents can be very harmful to the individuals in the vehicles involved. Motor vehicle collisions can sometimes even have fatal results. This is one of the many reasons why it is very important for motor vehicle drivers to not engage in drunk driving or other conduct that could cause auto accidents to occur.
Recently, a man was arrested in connection to allegations that he drove while drunk and caused a fatal accident.
The crash happened on Aug. 25, 2012 near Del Valle, Texas. Early that morning, a collision occurred between a BMW and an Audi on FM 973. According to authorities, the BMW had crossed the road's center line.
The driver of the Audi, a 26-year-old man, was killed in this car accident.
The BMW was being driven by a 20-year-old man. According to authorities, when tested after the crash, the 20-year-old man's blood alcohol level tested above the legal limit.
This Wednesday, authorities arrested the 20-year-old man in connection to the crash. He faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter.
As the accident this case centers around shows, auto collisions can sometimes result in an individual's death.
One hopes that motor vehicle drivers are held accountable when they commit driving misconduct (such as drunk driving) and such misconduct results in a harmful motor vehicle accident occurring. A couple of examples of things that can play a major role in holding negligent motorists accountable for the harm they have caused are criminal prosecutions and civil personal injury/wrongful death claims.
