Recently, a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in Texas.
Last Wednesday evening, a motorcycle was going along a road in Montgomery County. The motorcycle’s operator was a 45-year-old man. The motorcycle was then struck head-on by a car that was making a turn. According to authorities, the motorcycle had the right of way and the car had failed to yield. The car was being driven by a 23-year-old man and had two infants as passengers.
The 45-year-old man was ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the impact from this head-on collision.
It has been alleged that the 23-year-old man was driving while intoxicated. He faces multiple charges in relation to the accident.
The 45-year-old man sustained major injuries in the crash. He died of these injuries last Thursday. The Courier of Montgomery County article which reported this story did not mention if the 22-year-old man or the two infants suffered any injuries in the accident.
As this crash illustrates, motor vehicle accidents can have devastating results. Thus, it is very important for motorists to not engage in conduct which could make motor vehicle accidents more likely to occur. One type of conduct that can cause motor vehicle accidents is drunk driving. When a driver gets behind the wheel drunk, they are putting themselves, any passengers they have and individuals they share the roads with at risk.
When a motor vehicle driver engages in drunk driving or other negligent/reckless conduct when out on the roads and it results in another person getting hurt or dying, there are options available to the victim and/or the victim’s family to try to hold the party that engaged in the wrongful/negligent conduct financially accountable for the harm they caused.
