Texas auto accident results in fatality and injuries

by | Jul 15, 2015 | Car Accidents |

A tragedy occurred on a recent Monday evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Texas. An auto accident that involved two vehicles resulted in the loss of one life and injuries to several other people. The cause of the incident is currently being investigated.

It was reported that a motor vehicle was traveling in a southbound direction on Texas 90 when the head-on collision occurred. Apparently, a truck was headed in a northbound direction. The car suddenly collided head-on with the truck. A county sheriff said that there were three people in the car at the time of the accident, including the driver.

Sadly, one of the passengers in the car did not survive the accident. The other one was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The person driving the truck was also injured in the crash. The injured victims were reportedly transported for emergency medical care by helicopter and ambulance.

The Texas highway was shut down for some time following the tragic auto accident. No further details were provided concerning the updated physical conditions of the injured victims. The cause of the accident was not determined as of the media report about the incident. However, in similar cases in Texas, a driver is sometimes deemed to have been at fault in a collision where others have died or been injured as a result of negligence behind the wheel. When this happens, the injured person, or an immediate family member surviving a fatal victim, may file a legal claim in order to seek compensation for monetary damages.
